ASB Building

UHR Service Center and Benefits Offices Moving to Warren Madden Building

As announced in Inside Iowa State in July, Iowa State will be renaming – as well as repurposing – the Administrative Services Building (ASB) in honor of longtime ISU administrator Warren Madden this fall. In conjunction with the renaming, the Warren Madden Building, located at 2221 Wanda Daley Drive, will serve as the new central welcome center for ISU new employees and will bring together in one convenient location most of the key services and departments that our new employees, hourly student employees, graduate assistants and retirees utilize for their initial appointment/hiring and retirement transactions.

Many of the offices that are currently located in various locations across campus will be relocating their offices to the Madden Building or establishing permanent satellite offices in the building this summer or early in the fall semester. Among them:

  • UHR Service Center (week of September 8)
  • UHR Benefits (week of September 8)
  • Payroll (August 18)
  • ISU Parking Satellite Location

Convenient One-Stop Employment and Benefits Center

In addition to the added convenience of having all these customer-facing offices in a single location, parking will also be easier for visitors. The Madden Building features ample short-term parking in front of the building for individuals traveling to the center and is also easily accessible for ISU students and employees via CyRide bus routes (Cardinal, Gold, Brown and Peach).

Service Center and Benefits Office Moves

The UHR Service Center and Benefits Office staff will remain in their current locations in Beardshear Hall until after the start of the fall semester, which is our busiest time of the year. We are planning for those two offices to be moved in and fully operational in the Madden Building beginning the week of September 8. We will communicate additional details about UHR directly to you and through Inside Iowa State and other communications as those are finalized.

Which UHR Offices are Staying in Beardshear Hall?

The Vice President for University Human Resources Office, UHR Work-Life Staff, and Employee and Labor Relations will not be moving to the Warren Madden Building this fall and will remain officed in Beardshear Hall.

We are very excited for all the benefits and conveniences this new “ISU Employment and Benefits Center” will provide for our employees. The building is a fitting tribute to Mr. Madden, who retired in 2016 as senior vice president for business and finance after serving the university for 50 years. We look forward to our UHR Service Center and Benefits Office moves in early September, as well as the official dedication of the Warren Madden Building on September 19.
