Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Some of the mental health services offered through EAP include: 

ISU Police mental health response

The ISU Police staff roster includes full-time mental health advocates. Their mental health programming also includes mental health outreach and certified therapy dogs.

Network Community Counseling Services

Iowa State University’s Department of Psychology provides high-quality, affordable counseling services for individuals 16 years and older and psychological evaluations to individuals 8 years and older who live in central Iowa.

Mindfulness is the practice of paying attention to the present moment with openness and curiosity. Taking time to pause, breathe, and notice your thoughts and surroundings can help reduce stress, improve focus, and support your overall wellbeing. Whether through meditation, mindful movement, or simply being more present in daily activities, mindfulness can help you feel more balanced, resilient, and connected throughout your day.

Strolls for Wellbeing

A unique ISU-developed mindfulness program in collaboration with CELT that encourages people to take intentional breaks through guided reflection, mindful movement, and engagement with campus spaces.

Suicide Prevention Training (QPR)

Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) training teaches participants how to recognize signs of distress, start a conversation, and connect someone to appropriate support resources.

Mental Health First Aid Training (MHFA)

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) provides practical skills for identifying, understanding, and responding to signs of mental health and substance use challenges.
