Art Walk: Metals Mastery

Discover how artists shape, cast, and cut metal into works of art both monumental and small during this guided campus art walk. Surveying Iowa State’s public sculptures alongside objects featured in the exhibition Memory in Metal at the Christian Petersen Art Museum, participants will learn about the materials, techniques, and craftsmanship behind metal sculpture and die cutting. During the program, University Museums Pohlman Fellow Johnathan Calsbeek (History ’27) will lead a closer look at the design and history of one of Christian Petersen’s most significant medallion commissions.
